Practical information for your trip to Morocco

Overview

M'hamid is the last village before the desert. It marks the end of paved roads, electricity, drinking water, etc. In short, it is the end of Moroccan civilisation! It is your first encounter with the Sahara, the largest desert in the world, covering an area of 8 million km² of landBut before discovering this vast sea of sand, why not visit the gateway to the desert, which is M'hamid ?

Meet at our agency in the morning at a time you have arranged. Our camel drivers will be ready to take you on a tour of the last palm grove in the valley. Draa.

We'll make a stop at the old Kasbah located near the village. It was inhabited by Arabs and Jews and is now occupied by Bedouin women. We'll tell you all about its history.

We'll then start walking until picnic time, in the shade of the tamarisk and palm trees. This will also be a time to rest and relax before resuming the walk to the Chacal dunes, where we'll set up camp for dinner and a night under the stars or in a tent, as you prefer. The bivouac is a special time to recharge your batteries, get back in touch with nature and meet up with others in a friendly atmosphere. You'll find that you won't miss your hotel...

The next day, we return by a different route, and this will be an opportunity to see different landscapes, and also different vegetation, often consisting of medicinal plants used by the nomads.

Back to M'hamid you'll have experienced a foretaste of the desert. Now you're ready to discover more about this very special world!
