Overview
A tour that allows you to discover the variety of this authentic and legendary region. You'll cross the High Atlas range via the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, which reveals some fabulous mountain scenery. You will pass through Ait Ben Haddou, the most beautiful ksar in the country. You will travel through the Valley of the Roses and admire the astonishing gorges. You will drive along the Draa valley, this magnificent oasis stretching for 220 km with superb palm groves and a multitude of crops. This is also the route of the Kasbahs and ksours. Then at the end of the road,
the immensity of the desert and its imposing dunes. Bivouacking in this environment is an unforgettable experience. On the way back to Marrakech, you will pass through Taliouine, the centre of saffron production, known as red gold. Finally, the Tizi n Test pass will impress you!
Day 1 :
Departure for the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, which rises to an altitude of 2260m. You'll be able to enjoy some fantastic views! We'll stop off at the Telouet kasbah, ancestral home of the Pacha Glaoui, and then take a track that leads to a number of ksours and kasbahs, including Anmiter, to reach the Ounila valley. We continue along this track to reach the Tamdakhte kasbah before discovering the magnificent ksar of Aït
Ben Haddou. You'll be able to take some great photos! The day ends in Ouarzazate, where we have dinner and settle into a hotel.
Day 2 :
Departure for the Skoura palm grove via the route des mille Kasbah (visit to the Amrédhyle Kasbah). From Kalaa M'gouna, take a 50 km track through the Valley of the Roses into the Dades Valley. In the afternoon, we will discover the superb Todgha gorges and check into the hotel.
Day 3 :
Visit of the palm grove over 15 km, the town of Tinghir and its Berber souks before taking the road to Zagora through a mountainous landscape (the djebel Saghro) and passing through several typical villages such as Aklim and IKnioum. We will cross the Tizi-n-Tazazart pass to reach the N'Kob road before arriving in Zagora where, after dinner, we will check into a hotel.
Day 4 :
Zagora is a town surrounded by a number of beautiful kasbahs. The desert is close by and the landscape takes on a mineral splendour whose brilliance is reflected in the buildings. We'll take time to visit the town and its surroundings before setting off for M'hamid. On the way, we'll stop off at Tamgroute to visit the Koranic library and the manufacture of its famous pottery, and we'll wander through its underground streets. We then continue to M'hamid on the track through the Ouled Brahim palm grove and the Reg d'Elfaija. M'hamid is the gateway to the desert in this region, and from this village we'll take camels for a ride of around two hours. We'll set up camp in a bivouac near M'hamid for dinner and a night's sleep.
Day 5 :
After a visit to the ancient Ksar of M'hamid and a cup of tea with the locals, our 4×4 will take to the sandy tracks to reach the great Chegaga dunes, the most beautiful part of the Moroccan desert, forming a magnificent sea of sand stretching for 40 km and rising up to 300 metres. You'll enjoy picnicking in the shade of the palm and tamarisk trees, taking the time to rest and, in the evening, watching the sun set in this splendid world. Dinner and overnight at the bivouac.
Day 6 :
Departure for Taliouine along the track that runs between the Chegaga erg and the dry bed of the Drâa. We pass Lake Iriqui, then the road leads us to Foum Zguid and on to Taznakht. There will be a stop at a craft cooperative, which will present the different types of carpet from the region with detailed explanations. Lunch is free. Dinner and hotel in Taliouine.
Day 7 :
Visit Taliouine, a superb Berber village, before heading for Marrakech via Aoulouz and the Tisi n test pass, which will leave you with unforgettable memories and the chance to take some superb photos. Stop for lunch on the way and arrive in Marrakech in the afternoon. Dinner and hotel.
