THE FOUNDER

Aziz has been a desert guide for over 20 years. He speaks French, English, Arabic and Berber. He founded the agency Desert Passions in 2010 to share with travellers what his nomadic family passed down to him.
From time to time, he sets off alone, for several days, with no one to guide. He knows what it means to need to disconnect, which is why he so thoroughly understands what you are looking for.
OUR VALUES
People first
The families we meet along the way, they're our neighbours. We stop by, have tea, and then carry on. It's not an arranged visit – it's the journey.
The desert as it is
We don't disturb the animals, we don't touch the plants, and we always take everything we brought with us.
Living traditions
What seems strange here often has a long-standing good reason for existing. We try to understand before judging.

Saved on all our camping trips: not out of fashion, but from a long-held, passed-down habit.
Local jobs
Our guides, drivers and cooks come from the villages around the desert.
Local products
Vegetables, meat, spices — nothing travels from afar to end up on a plate in the middle of the desert.
Waste
Nothing is left in the desert, it all goes back with us. No exceptions.
